Our Commitment
To better serve the community, Farmers State Bank established a scholarship fund in 2001 for high school seniors. Each year, one graduating senior in each of the six high schools in the Bitterroot Valley and one student from Missoula, Kalispell and Helena schools will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship, to be paid evenly over four years of college. In 2024, we have given over $1M in scholarships to local students. Over the next 30 years, Farmers State Bank will award $6 million in scholarships to local students.
Our employees are active volunteers in their communities. We take inspiration from them, as a bank, and each year donate roughly $115,000 in donations/ sponsorships to local non-profits. We do not give to national non-profits as we prefer that our dollars do the most meaningful work they can, by staying in the communities. While we do have some non-profits we assist each year, we try our best to ensure that our dollars are spread out as much as possible, with a focus on Children, Young Families and Education.
